Can I book for just one night?

Unfortunately not. Our cabins are aimed towards adults and those looking for a special, romantic getaway.

Are there restaurants nearby?

The Highlands is blessed with some of the most incredible food and drink you'll find in the UK.

The nearby village of Tomintoul (8 miles) also has a pub or two, and a restaurant that opens in the summer months.

The Croft Inn serves delicious Thai food, and is approximately a 15 minutes drive. To book, please call them on 01807 590361.

If you'd rather relax in your cabin, local deli The Spey Larder in Aberlour (15 miles) offers a fantastic selection of artisan food and drinks. And if you really fancy treating yourself, we can arrange private catering with a renowned local chef! Please contact us for further information.

Is there car parking at The Dell at Glenlivet?

Yes. We have two lower carparks that are just a short walk from each of our cabins. There is also a layby near the Beithe cabin. Please use common sense when parking and be considerate of other guests.

Our tracks are made of hardcore; we do our best to maintain all paths and roads but do advise during any snow fall to leave your vehicle at one of the two lower car parks. Should the snows come, they can fall quickly and deeply making entry and exit to the site difficult.

What will the weather be like during my stay at The Dell?

If we knew that, we'd be rich! In the Scottish Highlands you can experience all seasons in a day – but whether you're outside enjoying the sunshine or cosying up inside looking out at the snow, we're fully equipped for your stay.

You should wear appropriate footwear and consider suitable luggage for transporting your belongings and provisions to your cabin.

How do I find my way around the site?

You can familiarise yourself with our site map before you arrive here on our website. All our cabins and carparks are clearly signposted, and a map, illuminated 24/7, also hangs on the outside of our service shed.

What time is check-in and check-out?

You are welcome to check-in to your cabin at The Dell from 3pm on the day of arrival. Before you arrive, you'll be provided with a lock-box code to get your keys.

Check-out is at 10am. When you leave, simple lock your cabin and leave the key in the lock-box. It's really that simple.

What should I bring with me?

That's a question with a thousand answers! It all depends on your plans during your stay.

The Dell is nestled in a remote site with rough paths to and from cabins, and little artificial lighting in darker hours. Bring a torch or two and sturdy outdoor shoes.

For entertainment, each of our cabins boasts wireless Bluetooth speakers so bring your phone – and a good book or two never goes amiss.

Take advantage of our food prep facilities and bring your favourite 'little effort required' snacks, meals and drinks – we feel you can't go wrong with some gourmet popcorn, a little charcuterie and a nice bottle of wine.

All our cabins are filled with luxurious towels, and a selection of toiletries – giving you even more space to bring your favourite treats!

What luxury touches do the cabins have?

Our beds are all topped with Emma Premium Hybrid mattresses, ensuring you have the soundest nights' sleep of your life.

Luxury towels await you in your cabin, ready for you to get cosy after a dip in your outdoor bath or a relaxing shower inside.

Luxurious toiletries – complementary of course – will help soothe the soul even further!

Are there creepy crawlies on site and should I be prepared?

The cabins at The Dell sit amongst 50 acres of natural Scottish Highland woodlands. As a result, in the summer months you will have to contend with the dreaded midges! We recommend keeping your windows and doors closed as these wee biting beasts are attracted by light and will come in. Bring some repellent (or Avon Skin So Soft, believe it or not!) if sitting outside. We also provide citronella candles to help ward them off – but you can never be too careful.

Like any grass, woodland or heather in Scotland, you may also come across ticks. We advise checking your skin every night – they like warm, dark areas of your body. If bitten, be aware of how best to remove the tick. You are at greater risk if you venture off the paths and disturb long grass or heather.

Can I forage at Glenlivet?

You can forage around The Dell at your own risk. We can accept no liability for anything eaten that has been foraged.

Around the site you'll find abundant nettles for soup and tea-making, bilberries and blaeberries on the heather hill, and chanterelle mushrooms in the summer months.

We do not mind guests picking a handful of mushrooms, however please do not take more than a few. Any mushroom picking is entirely a your own risk and you should only consume if you are absolutely certain of its identity.

How dark does it get at night at The Dell?

The Dell lies within an international ‘dark skies park’. For that reason, we are permitted only to install the very minimum of artificial lighting. Should you be arriving in darkness or during the winter months, we strongly advise you to bring a headtorch or torch!
