River: a hidden gem on the hilltop
River (“Abhainn”) is our highest altitude cabin, boasting spectacular views of Glenlivet and the surrounding area.
During your stay you will be rewarded by far reaching views down to the river Avon and beyond to the Cromdale hills. Arguably the cabin with the most spectacular views and wonderful privacy, we think the short trek to the front door is worth it!
Abhainn is accessed most quickly by the small right-hand path winding up through the birch trees, starting just to the right of our service shed. Approximately 100 metres from the nearest car parking area, this cabin has no direct vehicular access and involves a short, steep climb.

Facilities
Bath: Take a dip in the deep, double-ended outdoor bath on your balcony – letting you enjoy the stunning location while you soak in the bubbles… with a glass of bubbly?!
Shower: Enjoy a powerful, relaxing shower in your porcelain-tiled wet room.
Fire: Take in the wonders of the evening with a fire in the wood-burning stove on your balcony. A full log basket, kindling and firelighters are provided when you arrive.
Should you need more, help yourself to the wheelbarrow and some wood from the log store at the service shed. Please return the wheelbarrow immediately for other guests – think of the exercise!
Food: All cabins at The Dell are self-catering. Please bring all that you need with you to enjoy your stay. There is a fridge, freezer compartment and small area to store dry goods.
The village of Tomintoul (8 miles) and Ballindalloch Shop (5 miles) stock basic goods and both are licensed should you forget any essential items!
Cooking: Each cabin is equipped with a mini kitchen, boasting a microwave oven, two-ring electric hob, fridge and freezer, kettle and toaster.
Soon we will also offer charcoal BBQs at each cabin.
No Wifi: We made the careful and conscious decision not to install wifi at The Dell.
We believe in the power of getting back to nature; of switching off from social media and ungluing ourselves from our phones; and promoting spiritual and physical wellness and wellbeing.
Once you settle into your cabin, we’re sure you’ll agree that your enjoyment of your beautiful surroundings is only enhanced by the removal of constant interruptions.
Take this time in glorious Glenlivet to be in silence, to think, to breathe, to drink in your surroundings. Walk, sit in amongst the trees or up on the heather hill, and spend time in your own company and with the company of your companion. Lie back and listen to the sound of the wind and the birds in the trees. Breathe in the air. Social media will still be there when you return to ‘reality’!
